Eagle County, Vail, Colorado Area Real Estate Starts Strong in 2014

Eagle County real estate starts 2014 strong

Eagle County real estate ended the year down slightly in dollar volume ($1,402,637,280 in 2013 compared to $1,513,490,284 in 2012).

The start to 2014 is significantly higher in both categories compared with January in 2013. Total dollar volume is up 69% over last year to $103,109,993, from $61,119,460 in 2013, and transactions are up 10% to 107, from 97 in 2013. This equates to a higher than normal average sales price of $969,670.

Eagle and Gypsum continue to have the majority of the transactions with 22 total  (12 and 10 respectively) while Arrowhead had the next highest number of transactions with 9, followed by Avon with 8 transactions.

There were also 2 transactions over $5 million in January with the highest sale located in Vail Village, a home selling for $10,400,000; this equates to $3,139 per square foot.
