October shows high dollar volume
Eagle County real estate volume shows strength asdollar volume totals top $164,928,610, the highest of the year. This is 3% above last October and brings 2013 nearly even, at 99%, of last year’s volume through the same time period. Transactions remain strong with an October total of 177. This brings the years total to 1,475 which is 8% higher than 2012 year-to-date.
The strength of the market continues to be in the lower-end, under $500,000, and in the high-end, over $4M. These two sectors constitute 55% of the residential transactions and 41% of the residential dollar volume through October, 2013.
Bank sales continue to slow with just 6 in October and a total of 120 for the year. Compared to last year, bank sales are down significantly from the 313 bank sales in 2012.
October Highlights:
- Highest price sale was a Bachelor Gulch home selling for $11,900,000
- Vail Village had a sale of $5,100,000; creating the highest average price per square foot of the month at $2,494
- The overall average sales price for Eagle County was $996,899
